Bevel gears are gears that have teeth on the outside of a conical-shaped gear blank. They are designed to efficiently transmit power and motion between intersecting axes at right angles and are employed in a wide variety of machine applications. Miter gears are mating bevel gears having equal numbers of teeth and thus operate at a 1:1 gear ratio. Geartronics supplies bevel gears both in mating sets and as individual components of a set although when ordered and produced as sets we can more definitively assure that your specific requirements for backlash and tooth contact will be met.
Geartronics manufactures bevel and miter gears in numerous configurations, a wide range of sizes and various materials. We can provide bevel gears incorporating a wide array of machined features including shafts, hubs, keyways, slots, internal and external splines, cross holes and threaded holes. All the bevel gears produced by Geartronics are manufactured using the Gleason Coniflex® system which not only provides for smoother and quieter operation, but also minimizes gear tooth wear resulting in longer component life. The bevel gear teeth produced using the Coniflex® system are also generally stronger than those of standard straight bevel gears and, therefore, can transmit higher torque.
We have manufactured bevel and miter gears for customers from a number of industries, including:
