Geartronics has designed and produced bevel and miter gears in numerous configurations, and a wide-range of sizes and materials for over 80 years. Our experienced technicians will work to meet your design requirements for bevel gear sets to efficiently transmit power and motion between intersecting axes at right angles. Bevel gears are gears that have teeth on the outside of a conical-shaped gear blank. Miter gears are mating bevel gears having equal numbers of teeth and operate at a 1:1 gear ratio. Geartronics supplies bevel gears both in mating sets and as individual components, although we recommend that both gears in a set of bevel or miter gears be replaced as pair when replacing a worn or broken gear.
All the bevel gears produced by Geartronics are manufactured using the Gleason Coniflex® system that provides for smoother and quieter operation, and also minimizes gear tooth wear resulting in longer component life. The bevel gear teeth produced using the Coniflex® system are also generally stronger than those of standard straight bevel gears and, therefore, can transmit higher torque.
We have manufactured bevel and miter gears for customers from a number of industries, including:
